José Afonso is a master, an exemplary case of an author/writer/interpreter, a complete and unique creative personality, a light that never goes out and enlightens even those who don’t know him or who don’t know him well. As told in Hermann Hesse’s “Siddharta”, masters don’t actually exist, they are but a compass. The path – right, wrong or so-so – is made by their disciples. That’s the reason why recriations, albeit inspired by the Master, are indeed the recriator’s expression – of his talents and his purposes.
