Atualmente \u00e9 professor de piano e m\u00fasica de c\u00e2mara na Universidade do Minho, membro do grupo de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o em m\u00fasica do Centro de Estudos Human\u00edsticos (GIARTES \/ CEHUM) e presidente da sec\u00e7\u00e3o portuguesa da European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA Portugal).Como pianista estreou diversas obras, com um repert\u00f3rio que se estende do barroco ao contempor\u00e2neo. He is currently professor of piano and chamber music at the University of Minho, near Porto, a member of the research group in music at the University Centre for Humanistic Studies (GIARTES\/CEHUM) and the president of the Portuguese branch of the European Piano Teachers\u2019 Association.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>As a pianist he has premiered numerous works, with a repertoire reaching from the Baroque to the contemporary. He has also himself composed some piano pieces and chamber music, as well as a number of songs. He is regularly invited abroad to give masterclasses and to serve as a juror of different musical competitions.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>He has recorded for several labels, with music from Bach to the twentieth century. A review in the <i>Piano Journal <\/i>describes his album <i>Portugal <\/i>(published by <i>Di\u00e1rio de Not\u00edcias<\/i>) as \u2018remarkable and original\u2019, stating that Pipa\u2019s <i>Suite Portugal <\/i>will leave its mark on future Portuguese music anthologies, defining him as \u2018a pianist of great depth, power and poise\u2019.
